Pregnancy Belt or use of belt or body shaping garments after delivery



Many women used to ask for belt during pregnancy or after delivery. Manufacturers of belt or body shaping garments advertise showing their essentialities for preventing muscle pain and giving pre pregnancy shape to your body. Actually this is not true as a whole .
Just to understand and decide about the use of such products we need to have a look at the structure of the belly.
Belly is made up of abdominal muscles which get stretched and elongated during your pregnancy, to give space for the baby to grow. Muscles itself work as sling to bear the stress , so practically there is no need to use belt, unless prescribed due to severe weakness of abdominal muscles or back pain or any other pathologies.
After delivery muscles come to pre pregnancy status, though not fully. Moreover for fat deposition of tummy makes you to worry about your figure.
Now if you use belt or body shaping garments to tuck your tummy in, it will work until you are wearing it and again it will come out at once your remove the belt or garment.
More over it can be uncomfortable in humid or hot weather. Instead what you can do is start abdominal muscle strengthening exercises and exercises to reduce your body fat
But remember do not compromise with your food and nutrition as you are recovering from delivery phase and you also need to nourish your baby. Continue breast feeding, as the studies show that the women who continue breast feeding for longer time get back earlier to pregnancy level of uterus and body shape. It helps you to reduce your body fat and it prevents excessive bleeding and delayed menstruation as well which help you from becoming anemic. Choose the right and be happy.
